What is NDT
Non-destructive testing (NDT)
These are quality control methods that allow for the detection of discontinuities and material defects without damaging the tested component.
Training
Navi Academy conducts training in key NDT methods, preparing for work in real industrial conditions.Â
The most popular non-destructive testing methods
Visual Testing (VT) is a non-destructive testing method that involves detecting surface discontinuities using an inspector's eyesight, without the use of expensive equipment. This method allows for the rapid detection of surface discontinuities such as cracks, pores, or corrosion pits.
Magnetic Testing (MT) is a non-destructive testing method used to detect surface and shallow subsurface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials, utilizing a magnetic field and detection powders.
Penetrant testing (PT) is a non-destructive testing method used to detect very fine surface discontinuities open to the surface, utilizing the capillary action phenomenon.
It allows for precise localization of defects across a wide range of materials, including non-magnetic ones.
Ultrasonic Testing (UT) is a non-destructive testing method used to detect internal discontinuities and assess material thickness and integrity, utilizing high-frequency ultrasonic waves.
Enables precise localization of defects in a material and evaluation of elements with significant thickness, without the use of ionizing radiation.
Radiographic Testing (RT) is a non-destructive testing method used to detect internal material discontinuities using X-rays or gamma radiation.
It enables the evaluation of weld quality, component integrity, and internal structure analysis without interfering with the tested object.
UTPA (Ultrasonic Testing Phased Array) research is an advanced ultrasonic technique that utilizes multi-transducer probes to enable electronic beam steering of the ultrasonic beam.
The technique allows for dynamic material scanning, beam focusing, and obtaining cross-sectional imaging, increasing the precision of discontinuity interpretation.
