Below are the answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding training, examination, and certification process according to PN-EN ISO 9712.
Organizational questions
Are the training sessions conducted online?
Nie. Szkolenia w Navi Academy realizowane są wyłącznie w trybie stacjonarnym w naszym centrum szkoleniowym:

Will I receive a certificate after the training?
Nie – ukończenie szkolenia nie jest równoznaczne z uzyskaniem certyfikatu.
Po zakończeniu szkolenia należy przystąpić do egzaminu kwalifikacyjnego.
Warunkiem otrzymania certyfikatu jest jego pozytywny wynik, posiadanie aktualnego badania wzroku, oraz posiadanie potwierdzonej praktyki przemysłowej.
The standard time for certificate issuance is up to 30 days from the date of passing the exam.
The certificate is issued by the certification body: TÜV SÜD Poland Ltd.
Is the number of spots in the courses limited?
Yes. We work in small groups to ensure high-quality training and greater trainer availability for each participant.
A small group allows for freely asking questions, discussing personal cases, and correcting mistakes more quickly.
This makes it easier to translate theory into practice and effectively prepare for the exam.
The result is real competencies used in professional work.
Who can participate in the training or exam?
The answer depends on specific NDT method.
Each method has its own requirements for:
- health status (e.g., medical contraindications),
- vision,
- technical aptitude,
- completion and certification of professional practice.
For example:
- In some methods, people with pacemakers cannot participate in studies.,
- In other methods, pregnant women should not be in the testing area.,
- Each method requires certain practical and documentation conditions to be met.
Detailed requirements are described for individual trainings and are always discussed individually before enrollment.
Are the training courses and exams available in foreign languages?
Training and exams are conducted in Polish.
Certification process and documents
How to correctly fill out a certification application?
Wniosek należy wypełnić bardzo uważnie – błędy formalne mogą zablokować lub znacząco opóźnić wydanie certyfikatu.
Po wypełnieniu wniosku należy przesłać go do nas w formie skanu
lub czytelnych zdjęć. Sprawdzamy dokument, wskazujemy braki i
sugerujemy poprawki przed przekazaniem go do jednostki
certyfikującej.
Why is the correctness of a conclusion so important?
Incorrectly completed documents can delay the certification process. Correcting errors at a later stage is time-consuming and often requires re-contacting the certification body.
How long is the wait for a certificate?
Standard certificate issuance time is up to 30 days from the date of passing the exam.
The certificate can only be issued after submitting valid proof of practice (details in the section „Standard PN-EN ISO 9712 - formal requirements”).
Do I need to have proof of acquisition of professional practice?
Tak. Poświadczenie praktyki zawodowej jest warunkiem wydania certyfikatu. Istnieje możliwość przystąpienia do egzaminu bez posiadania
wymaganej praktyki. W takim przypadku praktykę należy odbyć w terminie do 2 lat od dnia zdania egzaminu. Po dostarczeniu dokumentu potwierdzającego odbycie praktyki certyfikat zostaje wydany.
What certifying body issues certificates?
The certifying body in accordance with PN-EN ISO 9712 cooperating with Navi Academy is TÜV SÜD Poland Ltd.

Navi Academy is responsible for training, organizing the certification exam, and supporting students until they pass the exam.
Szkolenie, zajęcia praktyczne oraz egzamin odbywają się w naszym Centrum Szkoleniowym w Gdańsku.
How do I get a certificate?
The certificate is sent by TÜV SÜD Polska via email, within 30 days from a properly passed exam.
Providing correct email address, to which the participant has permanent access and knows the password – it is sent to this address

PN-EN ISO 9712 Standard – Formal Requirements
Certificate of Vision Fitness – What You Need to Know?
A certificate of vision capability is mandatory and required by the PN-EN ISO 9712 standard. It must be current and confirm compliance with the standard's requirements.
The study can be performed Ophthalmologist or optometrist. In most cases, the certifying authority requires a doctor's signature on dedicated form relating directly to PN-EN ISO 9712.
Zalecamy, aby już na etapie umawiania wizyty poinformować lekarza, że wymagany będzie podpis na formularzu normy PN-EN ISO 9712. W praktyce nie stanowi to problemu, jeśli lekarz zostanie o tym uprzedzony.
What education is required?
Kandydat może posiadać dowolne wykształcenie o profilu technicznym obejmujące podstawowe zagadnienia w zakresie wytwarzania, obróbki i przeróbki metali.:
Potwierdzeniem posiadanego wykształcenia może być:
- świadectwo ukończenia szkoły zawodowej,
- świadectwo ukończenia szkoły średniej,
- dyplom ukończenia studiów wyższych (również niepełnych).
The document confirming your education should be attached to the documentation.
For a certificate to be issued, the candidate must possess Certificate of professional practice issued by a person who holds current level 2 or 3 certificate in the given NDT method.
Professional practice certificate – what you need to know?
To receive a certificate, the candidate must have proof of completing professional practice.
Poświadczenie musi być wystawione przez osobę posiadającą aktualny certyfikat poziomu 2. lub 3. w danej metodzie NDT.
Możliwe jest przystąpienie do egzaminu bez wymaganej praktyki. W takiej sytuacji kandydat ma do 2 lat od dnia zdania egzaminu na odbycie praktyki i dostarczenie dokumentu potwierdzającego jej realizację.
The certificate is only issued after proper proof of practice has been provided.
Certificate renewal (after 5 years)
When should the certificate be renewed?
The certificate is renewed 5 years from its issue date.
0 – rok zdania egzaminu kwalifikacyjnego
5 lat – odnowienie
10 lat – recertyfikacja
15 lat – odnowienie
20 lat – recertyfikacja

What does the renewal process look like?
The process is very similar to the initial certification. Required are:
- application,
- Application form for retaking an exam
- current eye exam,
- current certificate,
- Confirmation of professional practice.
Egzamin praktyczny obejmuje badanie dwóch próbek.
Is it necessary to document professional practice?
Yes. The internship must be certified by the person who confirms its completion. Certifying bodies rely on statements and documents submitted by the candidate.
What does this look like for a sole proprietorship or self-employment?
Osoba samozatrudniona również musi posiadać poświadczenie odbycia praktyki. Oświadczenie musi być podpisane przez osobę posiadającą certyfikat poziomu 2. lub 3. z danej metody (np. inspektora NDT), która potwierdza wykonywanie prac.
Recertification (after 10 years)
What is recertification?
Recertyfikacja to proces przedłużenia certyfikatu po 10 latach na kolejne 5 lat.
0 – rok zdania egzaminu kwalifikacyjnego
5 lat – odnowienie
10 lat – recertyfikacja
15 lat – odnowienie
20 lat – recertyfikacja
Jak wygląda recertyfikacja dla poziomu 1. i 2.?
Required:
- application,
- karta zgłoszenia udziału w egzaminie recertyfikacyjnym,
- current eye exam,
- dotychczasowy certyfikat.
Egzamin obejmuje badanie trzech próbek oraz opracowanie instrukcji badania.
Can the certifying body be changed during recertification?
Tak. Zmiana możliwa jest w każdym momencie w trakie trwania certyfikatu. W przypadku zmiany jednostki certyfikującej kandydat traktowany jest, jak osoba przystępująca do recertyfikacji bez historii w danej jednostce. W praktyce oznacza to pełny proces recertyfikacji.

Can training be conducted for closed corporate groups?
Tak. Oferujemy szkolenia zamknięte dla firm, zarówno standardowe wg normy PN-EN ISP 9712 zakończone certyfikacją, jak również szkolenia dedykowane ukierunkowane stricte na potrzeby Klienta.
W zależności od finalnego wariantu możemy:
- conduct an audit at the client's company,
- To understand the real scope of research conducted,
- conduct training on in samples provided by the client,
- select methods, techniques, and equipment precisely according to the plant's requirements,
- conduct training in jednym, wąskim sektorze wyrobu.
Dzięki temu część praktyczna jest maksymalnie dopasowana do specyfiki produkcji zakładu Klienta.
Can the training be fully customized to our production specifics?
Tak. W przypadku szkoleń zamkniętych, nie objętych certyfikacją PN-EN ISO 9712, program może zostać dopasowany do realiów konkretnego zakładu.
Before training, we analyze:
- type of production,
- typical incompatibilities,
- materials and thicknesses used,
- Applicable quality standards and requirements.
Część praktyczna może być realizowana na próbkach dostarczonych przez Klienta lub odwzorowujących rzeczywiste elementy produkcyjne. Dzięki temu uczestnicy pracują na przypadkach, z którymi faktycznie spotykają się w codziennej pracy.
Celem nie jest „zaliczenie szkolenia”, lecz przygotowanie personelu do konkretnej specyfiki produkcji.
Czy możliwe jest szkolenie wyłącznie w jednym wąskim obszarze?
Tak. W ramach szkolenia zamkniętego możliwe jest skoncentrowanie części praktycznej na jednym wąskim obszarze – np. konkretnym typie złącza, materiale, grubości lub procesie technologicznym.

Is it possible to conduct a competency audit before training?
Yes. Before starting the training, we can conduct an analysis of the team's competencies and the scope of the research conducted.
The audit may include:
- assessment of the level of theoretical knowledge,
- analysis of the procedures used,
- review of documentation and research instructions,
- identifying the most common quality problems.
Based on this, it's possible to plan training in a targeted manner – so as to fill actual competency gaps, rather than repeating knowledge the team already possesses.

What documents are required for an employee to participate in training?
For an employee to participate in the training, the following must be provided:
- training participation form,
- current certificate of vision,
- potwierdzenie dokonania wpłaty,
- w niektórych przypadkach dodatkowych zaświadczeń lekarskich (np. RT).
Participation requires submitting documents and paying the full training fee.
What documents are required to take the exam?
For an employee to be able to take a certification exam, the following must be provided:
- application form for exam participation,
- Application for non-destructive testing personnel certification (with agreement),
- current certificate of vision,
- dokument potwierdzający wykształcenie,
- w niektórych przypadkach dodatkowych zaświadczeń lekarskich (np. RT).
Wszystkie wymagane dokumenty pomagamy uzupełnić we właściwy sposób i na koniec sprawdzamy.
How should the documents be delivered?
Skany wypełnionych dokumentów i wymaganych załączników należy przesłać na adres e-mail:

The original documents must be submitted no later than the first day of training.
Until when should the documents be submitted?
Scans of properly completed documents should be submitted no later than 14 days before the start of the training.
After verifying the documents, we will provide information about their acceptance or any deficiencies.
Questions from privately trained individuals
Can I sign up for training without an employer?
Yes – it is possible to participate in the training and exam as a private individual or as a sole proprietor.
However, it should be remembered that The key element of certification is the attestation of professional practice. Without confirmed practice, a certificate cannot be issued, even with a successfully passed exam.
Before registering, we always discuss with the candidate how the internship can be properly documented.
Do you help people with no experience in NDT?
Yes, but we always clearly inform about the formal requirements that must be met for certification to be possible.
